I don’t wanna say theres something wrong with it, because its doing its job just fine. But it sometimes feels like I’m clutching into a down pillow. Now when I say sometimes I mean it doesnt always feel like this, its in and out. I had some floor material come loose, is there some grease on the slave cylinder that the foam could have soaked up? Could the clutch need a bleeding? Im clueless on this one and a cursory google search comes up with nada.

It isn’t a fatal issue, and if it works may as well leave it. It’s probably just a tiny bit of air in the hydraulic lines. It’ll come out next time you service it. Don’t worry so much, man.

Yeah, but like I said, just make sure you bleed the clutch properly next time you service it.

Probably you need to bleed it, especially if it occurs after not shifting for a while.

The clutch on my parents’ F -150 is pillowy soft. There’s no engagement problems, but it’s annoying as hell. I can best describe it as “CLUTCH FEEL REDACTED”.

First thing to check... does your vehicle have a hydraulic clutch? If so, is the clutch/brake fluid topped up?

Don’t know about Rangers, but the F series had a problem with the firewall cracking where the clutch master cylinder mounts. It caused it to flex and felt soft. They make fix-its for that.

Open the clutch fluid cap and pump the hell out the clutch pedal for a minute. See if theres air bubbles coming out. Bleeding never removes all the air. If still soft then the seals inside the slave are going. S10 was soft for a few months and then the release bearing went. With a new slave cyl it’s like new.

Air in the clutch line or a slight leak. Needs to be bled/line replaced

The slave was done in sept 2014, I bet all my issues (clutch and electrical) are due to the humidity and rain we’ve been getting. My clutch cap has a relief hole, I bet anything some rain water got in there. I bet the rain sullied the connectors somewhere on my truck too and caused it to stall out this morning
